Alex Pereira has withdrawn his offer to train with Jon Jones while fans continue to insist on a super fight between the couple.
The dominant Brazilian met Jones on UFC 306 and offered to train the couple together, even though he was called several times by his two -weight world champion rival. In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow in his role as a ring ambassador, however, he seemed to change his number.
Pereira is currently preparing to defend his light-heavy title on UFC 313 next week in Las Vegas against his last challenger at the weight in Magomed Ankalaev. In the meantime, Jones are expected to finally unite the heavyweight division with interim champion Tom Aspinall later this year.
Alex Pereira is missing offer to train with Jon Jones
Jon Jones has made it clear that his interest after beating Stipe Miocic on UFC 309 is more with Alex Pereira, and not Aspinall. After demonstrably establishing the biggest career in the MMA history, he is enthusiastic about Legacy fights with big names, which the Brazilian sets ahead on the hit list of his British counterpart.
However, when they came to each other in Las Vegas, it seemed that a fight was certainly unlikely, with Pereira told that they were more likely to train together. However, only with Bloody Elbow tonight as a ring ambassador he seemed to have changed ideas.
“To be honest, I don't think that's so much logical,” said Pereira about his offer. “When I said I would like to fight for heavyweight people who have already put together the dots and in fact called Jon Jones.
“So that is something that is speculated, even if it is only by the fans. So I would not want to train every now and then if we fight against people will eventually say a lot of things about anything in the fight.
“So I think it would not be logical now, but if we were fighting one day and then training, I think it would be totally logical.”
Alex Pereira will see Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall as a fan – and not future opponents
However, Pereira did not seem to be attracted to whether he would commit himself to combating the winner of the highly hit superfight on heavyweight. He will of course look, but it says it will only be as a fan.

He believes that Jones will win and said about the spectacle: “I will not necessarily study the fight, but I will keep a close eye on it.
“Of course every heavyweight fight is already exciting and then you throw Jones and Tom Aspinall. So I think it is a very exciting fight and I think I will look closely – but only as a fan. “
