
Former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas saw Blues stars put him in the club during his time, John Obi Mikel unveiled.
The Portuguese was appointed in 2011 as manager of the West -London club after replacing Carlo Ancelotti. But he lasted less than nine months in work before he was brutally fired by Roman Abramovich.
The decision certainly worked for Chelsea, who won the Champions League for the first time under his replacement Roberto di Matteo only a few months later. And former Chelsea Star Mikel has now opened his enchantment under Villas-Boas and confirmed that he played a role in his resignation.
Asked by Stadium Astro about his impressions of the man who was called 'the next Mourinho', the Nigerian replied: “Yes, he was. Only if he didn't come in with such a big ego and wants to be the most important man who tries to force the core of the team immediately.
“You don't come in from the first day and say:” You all, I put you on the couch. “And you don't explain why they don't play.

'For Roman [Abramovich] We were the most important people in the football club, it should be, the players are the most important people, not the manager. The players must be happy. “
Mikel played among a large number of managers on Stamford Bridge, including Mourinho, Villas-Boas, Ancelotti, Avram Grant, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Guus Hiddink. The former midfielder also played under Rafael Benitez and Antonio Conte.
During his time at Chelsea, he won two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the Champions League and two competitionups. He left the club in 2017 with a move to China and finally retired in 2021 after spells with Middlesbrough, Trabzonspor and Stoke City, while he completed his career in Kuwait.
In the meantime, Villas-Boas had spells with Tottenham, Zenit, Shanghai SIPG and Marseille before he made a surprise in the motorcycle races after participating in the Dakar rally.
