Real Madrid took a valuable 1-0 win on Wednesday to Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey, but it was far from a perfect evening in front of Carlo Ancelotti, who are now ready to be one of their most important midfielders for the coming weeks.
Vinicius Junior was subjected to racist abuse of a supporter in the Reale Arena, and the top of this, Real Madrid now has a different injury problem, with just a crisis in this area in recent weeks.
According to Diario as, Dani Ceballos suffered a blow to his knee in the dying phases of the game in Donostia-San Sebastian. The midfielder was involved in a collision with La Real Winger Takefusa Kubo, and he came out considerably worse – and as such he could not play further, which meant that Real Madrid ended the game with only 10 players on the field.
According to the report, the feeling with Ceballos is very bad, because he could hardly support his leg while trying to play with Kubo after the incident. He burst into tears when he gone his way off the field and felt the worst.
Further information has been revealed by Relo with regard to Ceballos' injury and it has been reported that it is his hamstring that has been hit. According to this report, he will miss 3-4 weeks of action, which is a big blow to him and Real Madrid.
If this injury time is accurate, this would mean that Ceballos cannot play in one of the Real Madrid matches against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16, with the two legs that will take place in the next two weeks. Moreover, he would not be available for three La Liga matches – against Real Betis, Rayo Vallecano and Villarreal.
