Vinicius Junior subjected to racist abuse during Copa del Rey match

Real Madrid achieved a 1-0 win in the first stage of their Copa del Rey Semi-Final draw against Real Sociedad on Wednesday, but it is overshadowed by another copy of racist abuse aimed at Vinicius Junior.

The match in the Reale Arena, for which Vinicius was the captain of Real Madrid for the first time, was a frustrating thing for the Brazilian superstar when he struggled to have a significant impact during his 84 minutes of action. In the end, however, it did not matter, because Los Blancos secured the victory that has them in the steering set to reach the Copa del Rey final of this season.

Unfortunately the evening took a sour tone when Vinicius was subjected to racist abuse. Diario has recorded a monkey gesture in the direction of the 24-year-old at the time a la Real supporter has recorded.

Depriminating, this is by no means the first time that Vinicius is the target of racist abuse by opposition supporters. There have been earlier incidents with the Mestalla and son Moix to name a few, but there have been more and this has led to stricter penalties being introduced for perpetrators – with some threatened with prison.

It is expected that this will be a response from La Real, who will almost certainly start an investigation to find the person in question. The Spanish football federation can also take action, just like La Liga, despite the fact that the match does not fall under their jurisdiction.

It turns out that Vinicius was not the only Real Madrid players who were the target of abuse during the 90 minutes in San Sebastian, with a further report from Diario that stated that defender Raul Asencio was subject to hymns of “Asencio, who” in the first half. The young defender, who played on right back, was replaced during the break and replaced by Lucas Vazquez.
