Cole Palmer tipped to make sensational Liverpool transfer – ‘Watch this space’

Dwight Yorke does not think that Cole Palmer will demand to leave Chelsea if they don't get the top four – but he can see the English star end up in Liverpool.

Palmer, 22, has established himself as one of the best young players in the Premier League since he joined the Blues from Manchester City last summer and has recorded more target contributions (33) than any top-flight star during the 2023-24 campaign.

Unfortunately for Palmer and Chelsea, things have been more difficult this season. The side of Enzo Maresca is currently in a fight to qualify for next year's Champions League with Palmer in the midst of seven games.

Some have speculated that the attacking midfielder Stamford Bridge could leave if they don't get the top four. Yorke does not see that happening, although he thinks Palmer can be lured to Anfield to replace Mohamed Salah when he leaves the Reds.

When Yorke was questioned about Palmer who might put Chelsea, he said to Casinobeats: “He doesn't seem like that friendly person. I don't think he would demand that he would leave Chelsea if he plays a season from the Champions League.

“He is still very young, and he went there and turned his career and became the CEO. Why would you run away from a club and at the same time be the top man?

“Where is he going to be a top player and the CEO? Liverpool? Maybe Man United, he said he is a man united fan, but he is not going there because he is a city man. Besides that is Arsenal, he is not going there because Bukayo Saka is there.

“Liverpool can be an option if Mo Salah would leave, so that could be something that they might look like to do. So pay attention to this space when Mo Salah leaves.”

The future of Salah at Anfield remains uncertain, although he continues to enjoy one of the most productive campaigns in his career. He has registered more than 50 target contributions in all competitions and is very much the most important man of Liverpool.

Yorke also claimed that Palmer has a similar status at Chelsea. And that could play a role to convince him to stay instead of moving to Merseyside in the future.

The former striker of Manchester United continued: “There is no reason why it would not happen if Mo Salah had to leave. Otherwise he would like to leave Chelsea?

“He is the CEO of the club. He plays week in, week out. Yes, the Champions League is important. If we continue to miss the Champions League, it will only be a problem for Cole Palmer. Next year, when Chelsea returns, work hard, work hard and make sure.

“I really believe that the only club that could seduce him would be Liverpool, and even then they should let Salah go first.”
