Since debuting in the promotion in 2018, Ankalaev has tasted the defeat once and is currently driving a 13-field undefeated streak. He challenges the light heavyweight throne against Alex Pereira on UFC 313.
UFC 313 will be the second UFC title of Ankalaev after his draw with Jan Bachowicz in 2022. This time he will want to make a statement against 'Patan'.

Magomed Ankalaev vs. Johnny Walker
Ankalaev fought twice against Walker in the UFC. The first time was at UFC 294 in 2023. Walker came out aggressively and almost attracted his Russian enemy to a flying knee. However, the action would not last long, because Ankalaev accidentally caught the eye and forced a no-contest.
This result attracted a lot of research into Ankalaev, who had just ruined his first UFC title fight against Bachowicz in a lukewarm decision. To compensate, Ankalaev Walker beat out with a Hook-Uppercut combination in their immediate rematch.

One of the underrated victories by Ankalaev came across Nikita Krylov in 2021. At the time, Klylov had just earned back from a split loss of decision for future Glover Teixeira champion by beating a rising Johnny Walker.
Krylov turned out to be a formidable opponent on the feet, so Ankalaev insured a unanimous decision victory with his attacking struggle.

Ankalaev is taking on Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight UFC championship in the main event of UFC 313 on 8 March 2025. Ankalaev is generally considered the stiffest test of Pereira in the UFC, because he has accompanied a strong gripping background with solid fundamental view.
