Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has received a suspension of four games and fined £ 35,000 after the fall-out of Monday's scoreless draw against Rivals Galatasaray, who accused the Portuguese coach of it racist explanations.
In his comments after the game, Mourinho said that the Galatasaray bank “jumped like monkeys” after an early challenge and also said that the game was better to be referred to by the Slovenian Slavko Vincic instead of Turkish officials after both clubs had asked for a strange appointment.
Galatasaray then outlined their intention to “initiate a criminal procedure with regard to the racist statements of Jose Mourinho”, and claimed that he had “made different statements on the Turkish people”.
On Thursday, the Turkish football federation (TFF) released decisions taken by its professional Football Disciplinary Board, which imposed sanctions on the Fenerbahce boss for two separate disciplinary matters.
Mourinho said, the TFF said to the room of the referees and his “different and offensive statements” aimed at the fourth officer who was Turkish.
The Portuguese coach “also accused Turkish football of Chaos and Disorder with offensive and offensive statements against both the Turkish football community and all Turkish referees”.
The TFF said that the “Mourinho's actions and statements that insulted the brand value of football activities in Turkey” were taken into account, with a decision of a prohibition of two games from both the dressing room and a fine of 117,000 Turkish lira (£ 2,500).
With regard to his comments after the match press conference, De Tff said: “It was established that the statements used against the members of the opposite team were not mandatory, contrary to the ethics of sport and the concept of fair play, which contained expressions that could cause violence and disorder in sport, and thus sporting in the society.”
As such, a fine of 1.5 m TL (£ 32,655) was imposed in addition to another ban of two games.
The sanctions mean that Mourinho will not be in the dugout for the upcoming competition matches of Fenerbahce against Antalyaspor, SamsunSpor, Bodrum and Trabzonspor.
Galatasaray, who led Fenerbahce with six points at the top of the Super Lig, would add a fifth star to those who are already at top if they secure a 25th league title this season.
After the accusations of racism, the former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba had defended his old boss and 'Dad' Mourinho.
Former Ivory Coast International Drogba-Die in 2013-14 for Galatasaray played between two different spells at Stamford Bridge, both of whom worked under Mourinho used a social media post to defend the 62-year-old, which indicated that the Portuguese coach had been a father figure for him during his career.
Fener had issued their own statement on Tuesday and said that Mourinho's comments were “completely removed from the context after the game and deliberately deformed”, and could not be “in any way associated with racism”.
