Pep Guardiola and Manchester City looking for midfielder in January transfer window
Manchester City have suffered a number of injuries this season, but their record would suggest that the player they miss most is Rodri Hernandez. The Ballon d'Or winner's absence has seen Pep Guardiola embark on the worst run of his career, stringing together five straight defeats.
It's something they will try to address. That's the news Matteo Moretto reports to Relevo, who say City are scouting midfielders with a view to strengthening in the January transfer window. Although the top clubs generally tend not to move in the winter market, it appears that the sharp drop in results has prompted action.
Moretto specializes in the Italian and Spanish transfer markets, and it would be no surprise to see Martin Zubimendi linked with the English champions again, although he recently reaffirmed his commitment to Real Sociedad. The transfer insider has previously distanced himself from Samuele Ricci's links with City, but there are few players who can fill the required role that will be available mid-season.
