Former Arsenal favorite Tomas Rosicky has spoken about possibly returning to his old club to take up the vacant sports director function.
Arsenal is still looking for a replacement for Edu after his shock room in November.
For the time being, Jason Ayto – who was Edu's No2 – noticed to take on the role on interim basis, but a permanent successor to the Brazilian is expected to be appointed in the coming months.
Rosicky spent 10 years in Arsenal between 2006 and 2016 and is now the sports director for Sparta Prague. He has been associated with a return to the Emirates and has now tackled the rumors, admitted that there has been interest, but he still has to receive an official offer.
He said FlashScore: 'The reality is simple. My connection with Arsenal is of course because I have spent 10 years there, and when you spend somewhere for 10 years, you form a strong, very strong bond.
'So I have this strong bond with Arsenal and I have a strong bond with Sparta Prague. Those are the two clubs I love, because I have a warm relationship with them.
'I am honored by the fact that I am even considered by Arsenal's management, but I can say that I have no offer to go to Arsenal.
“As I said before, I am aware that I am on their radar or that I am in a certain capacity in their considerations, but I have not received an offer.”
If Rosicky gets the role, he can expect a busy summer after Arsenal has passed a difficult winter window.
They did not succeed in bringing in one player, even though fans called Mikel Arteta to strengthen his front line.
A new striker is at the top of the agenda, while Arsenal is said to also show interest in Bayern Munich -midfielder Thomas Kimmich.
