Bayern ‘very important in the crucial moments’ against Stuttgart, says Kompany

Vincent Kompany praised Bayern Munich because he was 'very important at the crucial moments' of their comeback victory in Stuttgart.

The Bundesliga leaders came from behind to prevail 3-1 at Mhparena and to move 11 points from the second place Bayer Leverkusen at the top.

Bayern hit Angelo Stillers 34th minute strike, but Michael Olise brought things before the break.

Leon Goretzka and Kingsley Coman were on goal after the break to seal the three points in front of Kompany, with the former Hamburg defender also reaching a personal milestone on the way.

“It is never easy at Stuttgart,” he told reporters during his press conference after the game. “I never won here as a player, but I enjoyed this victory because Stuttgart was the better team in the beginning.

“As a group we needed 30 minutes to find our rhythm in the game. Then all players improved. They were very important at the crucial moments, and they won many duels.”

Next for Bayern in the first stage of their Champions League Last-16 draw with Leverkusen on Wednesday, one of the three games in the room of six days.

But Kompany insists that his team will not be hit by the busy schedule.

“You just have to stay calm and prepare for the next game and that is what the team did and will continue to do,” he added. “That is what I did during my career and that will never change whatever happens.”
