Former goalkeeper Loris Karius van Liverpool was led by his wife from his TV presenter from the stands when he enjoyed a fantastic debut for German side Schalke on Friday evening.
Karius wants to restart his career in the German Second Division, with the 31-year-old in January until the end of the season in January joined Schalke.
The deal ended for a period in the wilderness after he had left Newcastle at the end of last season, with his last game in the Magpies 4-1 loss for Arsenal on February 24 last year.
He got his first start in more than a year on Friday evening against Preusen Munster, after he had previously been a second choice for Justin Heekeren.
Karius was viewed from the stands of his wife Diletta Leotta, an Italian TV presenter.
Leotta shared images of the stands on social media of Karius who warmed up for his debut for the German side before.
Karius made a major impact for Schalke, where the Shot stopper made a stunning late double save from Niko Koulis and David Kinsombi, which led him to be harassed by his teammates.
The 31-year-old made a number of nice saves during the 2. Bundesliga competition, which Schalke helped to achieve a narrow 1-0 win.
The result helped to facilitate Schalke's relegation problems with the victory that took them nine points from the drop zone.
“For a keeper it is always good if you can distinguish yourself,” Karius told Sky Germany after the game.

Schalke Baas Kees van Wonderen praised Karius' performance in the victory and stated that the former goalkeeper of Liverpool and Newcastle showed that he can make the difference aside.

The goalkeeper was also seen waving at his wife in the stands after the game, with another photo a hug showed between the couple after he was reunited after the game.
Leotta is said to have difficulty in understanding Karius' step to the German side, instead encouraged him to get closer to Milan before supporting his decision.
Last year Leotta Karius begged to leave Newcastle and play in Italy after giving birth to their daughter, Aria.
