Brazil of Manchester United has said that she thinks it is “painful and lonely” that she is not happy somewhere.
The 26-year-old, who recently had compassionate leave after her brother's death, made her first Women's Super League appearance of 2025 with a late replacement appearance in the 2-0 victory of United on Leicester on Sunday.
Geyse, who came to United from Barcelona in the summer of 2023, made only nine league games this season, six of which have started.
“Staying in a place where we don't feel happy is a painful and lonely feeling. Every day seems heavier, and the simple fact that there is a burden there,” she wrote on Instagram.
“The environment, which should be hospitable, becomes a field of discomfort, where inner peace is difficult to find. When we are not in line with what surrounds us, the world around us loses its color and energy.
“Sometimes the desire for change arises as an urgent need, but the fear of the unknown or uncertainty about the future can paralyze us.
“However, it is essential to remember that we deserve to be in places and situations that bring our happiness and fulfillment. That is the only way we can grow.”
United Baas Marc Skinner was asked after the game – before Geyse made her social media post – about the current situation of the attacker.
“Geyse wants to play. She wants to start, but we all know the difficult time she is going through,” he said.
“Her mood will sometimes be up and down and that's ok. We work with people, they are not robots.”
In a statement, Manchester United said: “We continue to support Geyse in her well -being and continue to look for options that suit all parties.”
