Real Madrid given major fitness boost ahead of Champions League derby

Real Madrid is already struggling with injuries while preparing for their Champions League Derby collision with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening, but Los Blancos can breathe a little easier. It seems that Fede Valverde is on the field in the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos felt the absence of Jude Bellingham and Valverde against Real Betis on Saturday evening, with the former suspended and the last one handed a thigh. The Englishman will also miss the first stage of their derby this week by suspension, and there is a significant doubt about the availability of Valverde after the Uruguayan who missed the training on Sunday.

However, according to Relo, Valverde will prevent. The 26-year-old midfielder is set, even if he is aware that it entails an injury risk and wants to help his teammates as he did against Manchester City. In the past hours, Valverde has felt well, and it would be a surprise if he did not start the Madrid derby.

Carlo Ancelotti plans to use Valverde on right back again, after impressive impressions against Manchester City. If Valverde does not start, take Diario if indeed Lucas Vazquez indeed right back-back that Real Madrid would like to avoid, because he has struggled defensively this season, and it is an area that is aimed by opposition.

The return of Valverde to Right back will still leave Ancelotti with decisions in midfield, with two by Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, Luka Modric and Eduardo Camavinga who probably accompany Aurelien Tchouameni in midfield. It can also affect the line-up chosen by Diego Simeone. Atletico found joy against Vazquez in the February Liga Derby with Samuel Lino attacking the left flank, but El Cholo apparently debates between the use of the Brazilian or Conor Gallagher on that side. The presence of Valverde can seduce Simeone to use the more robust gallagher.
