Jonathan Tah move to Barcelona in doubt after fresh news from Catalan capital

Barcelona must make an important decision for the future of their defense, with two players reserved for one place. While Pau Cubarsi is insured as one of their options for the coming years, the position of his long -term partner is for the taking.

Andreas Christensen seems ready to leave the club, with a year left on his deal and not a sign of a new one, while the future of Eric Garcia is another point of debate, looking ahead to the summer, which had left almost in the last two transfer toysters. On the other hand, Inigo Martinez seems to be renewed for another year, and the Veteran Basque Center-Back disputes the starting point alongside Cubarsi.

However, the future of Ronald Araujo is less certain. The Uruguayan renewed its deal until 2031 in January, but has a release clause of € 65 million in the first ten days of the transfer window. Adding more fuel to the fire, despite the guarantees of Aaraujo that he wants to stay, is the fact that he has not been able to secure a starting point since the return of an injury.

Parallel to this, Barcelona is in conversation with Jonathan Tah van Bayer Leverkusen, who no longer has a contract at the end of the season and is available for free. The German international has reportedly chosen Barcelona as his favorite destination and in his native country the deal is described as 'a matter of time'.

The potential arrival of Tah is conceived as a certain sign that Arajo will move by some this summer, but Cadena Ser reports that Barcelona would rather keep him instead of signing Tah. Although this is not confirmation that this will happen, because of their financial situation and the playing situation of Araujo, but the Barcelona sports department believes that he is a better player than Tah.
