A return to Barcelona for Neymar Junior has been gathering pace in the media for several weeks, but the Brazilian veteran is not in their plans according to the latter in Catalonia. The 33-year-old signed a short-term agreement with First Club Santos after leaving Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia six months early. His current deal, however, only runs for six months and he would be available as a free agent for the Blaugrana.
During the weekend, agent Andre Cury noticed that 'Neymar would like to return to Barca', while another agent with close connections in Barcelona, Pini Zahavi represented him in the past. Zahavi has a close relationship with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who would like to ensure that they have a star attraction in the city for their return to Camp Nou as soon as it is ready.
However, MD claims that Neymar is simply not in their plans for the coming summer, free or not. They say that Neymar does not fit into the profile of players that Barcelona is looking for in terms of age or Quallity, and that there are other priorities in mind.
One is a center-forward that Robert Lewandowski can replace and has goals. Left wing is a position that they look at, but more closely connected to AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Luis Diaz in Liverpool, and believe they would fit more with the project.
Recent reports, published for the first time by Joan Fontes, also suggest that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has serious doubts about the addition of Neymar. He believes that the veteran does not fit in the side that he is building, not least because of the intensity and demands that he places on them without the ball. Ceerteyamaam it seems like a strange fit in terms of purely what he can bring to the field, even if his quality were undoubtedly useful.
