Slot makes promise as Liverpool boss responds to FA claims and Michael Oliver

Arne Slot claimed that he would no longer lose his cool with civil servants after an alleged X-rated rant had brought him a two-game Touchline ban in the Premier League.

The Liverpool boss told referee Michael Oliver that he would blame him if his party did not win the title after a 2-2 draw with Everton last month.

Slot was shown a red card, a ban on two games and gave a fine of £ 70,000 when Oliver claimed that the Dutchman said: “If we don't win the competition, I will blame you.”

The Reds head coach disputed the language in his answer, but did not claim that he said “shame” at one of the assistant referees.

In anticipation of the last-16 draw tonight with PSG said Slot: “Whatever I said in the written report and I can say it again.

“The moment it happened, I was pretty emotional for everything that happened in the last seven or eight minutes and maybe during the entire game. I chose to go on the field instead of staying calm and staying inside and then talking to Michael.

“Now I no longer have the same emotions, so I think I should give a better example than I would then set and no longer go into the situation.”

Slot also did not want to put on the fire with Oliver in the news this week after he had given Millwall keeper Liam Roberts a yellow for his horror-tackle on Jean-Philippe Mateta. Slot said: “It is clear what I wrote and what Michael wrote.

“Michael has been quite in the news lately and I don't think it helps if I add something to it now that I have my emotions under control.”

The FA also claimed that Slot said that Oliver “F *** ING gave everything”, and hoped that the referee was “proud of that performance”.

Slot admitted that his actions were unacceptable in the report.

The committee took over the board that he had since made a genuine apology, both private and in public. That led to the fine of lock, was lowered of £ 100,000 and the fact that he accepted the indictment as soon as it was possible.

Slot's Assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff also received a touchline ban of two games and a fine of £ 7,000 after the FA claimed that he approached Oliver in an “extremely aggressive way”.
