Arsenal’s two transfer priorities emerge as Arteta snubs Premier League star

Arsenal is probably not a member of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the race for £ 70 million Rated Crystal Palace Starlet Adam Wharton.

The Gunners will be on the market for a new central midfielder when the summer transfer window is opened, with Thomas Partey and Jorginho both out of contract. But an offer for England International Wharton, 21, would be a surprise.

That's because the top goal of Arsenal Martin Zubimendi is from Real Sociedad and they are ready to pay his £ 51 million release clause. It appeared in January that the Gunners almost reach an agreement with the 26-year-old, who rejected Liverpool last summer after winning Euro 2024 with Spain.

Mikel Arteta is supposed to be a big fan of the 26-year-old, who holds personal conversations to convince him to join Arsenal. That does not mean that the Gunners will not sign another midfielder after the arrival of Zubimendi, because Bayern Munich Loyal Joshua Kimmich is on course to become a free agent in July and Arsenal is connected to him.

Kimmich would be a much cheaper alternative to Wharton, who would cost the E -mail report at least £ 70 million in the midst of interest of the European giants Madrid and Bayern. However, the second priority of Arsenal after Zubimendi will be to sign a new striker.

Gunners -Baas Arteta already went looking for a no. 9 in January, but could not bring one. A £ 40 million bid was made for Ollie Watkins, but Aston Villa was not willing to sell him. RB Leipzig Hotshot Benjamin Sesko is a long -term objective, through which Arsenal wanted to continue during the 2023 summer window.

Arsenal plays the rest of this season without a recognized striker, because Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are both injured. With Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli also put offside with shorter fired, their goal scores threat has been considerably reduced.

Arteta admitted that he was 'disappointed' with the failure of the Gunners to sign a striker in January and said: “We had a clear intention, what is always there to open a window to explore the possibilities to improve our team with players who can influence this.

“We have not achieved it, so we are disappointed in that sense, but we are also very aware that we only want to take certain types of players with us – and we also have to be disciplined very well with that.”
