Bloody Elbow asks Alex Pereira about the boxing declaration of Oleksandr Usyk
In February, heavyweight King Oleksandr usyk teased that he probably only had two fights before he retired – and that he would be interested in combating the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
'First, it is who wins the next fight [between Dubois and Parker] … then maybe a show fight with Alex Pereira. Maybe. Why not? Alex wants that [fight]”He told TNT Sports Boxing.
Bloody Elbow recently sat down with Alex Pereira to talk about his upcoming title fight and at a certain stage of the interview we asked 'Patan' what he thought of Oleksandr Usyk's Callout.
“I really enjoyed that, I clearly said that my wish to box one day, and I would like to face the champion, so I think that is the fight that would be logical if I would go.”
Even if the Ukrainian hero chooses to bend before Pereira makes that transition from cage to ring, the Brazilian remains aimed at who holds the heavyweight crown.
“But if he is no longer the champion, which makes sense to me to fight where the champion versus champion is.”
Alex Pereira defends his throne on UFC 313, planned for Saturday 8 March.
