It is said that man United Flop Antony has expressed his desire to stay in real betis after the summer.
Antony, 25, has been revived since he scored three goals at Betis on loan from United of United in January and added two assists in just seven games.
The temporary relocation of the winger to Spain came after he had struggled badly in Old Trafford after his £ 85 million move from Ajax in the summer of 2022, with the Brazilian on the periphery under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim.
Antony actually scored only 12 goals and added five assists in 96 games for the Red Devils, even though it was the second most expensive signing of the club of all time.
His performances in Laliga have driven betis in the direction of the European qualification – including a stunning 2-1 victory against Real Madrid on weekends – while they are also in the last 16 of the UEFA Conference League.
And according to Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon, Antony has expressed the wish to stay in the club for the long term.
Betis does not have an option to buy Antony within the loan agreement, although they cover 84 percent of his salary, which means that every movement may be within financial reach.
“Recently Antony told me that he wanted to stay for another year,” Alarcon told the El Pelotazo show of Canal Sur.
“The player is very comfortable here and was surprised by the facilities we gave him to settle in the city as soon as he arrived.”
The shape of Antony is so impressive that he was tipped to return to the Brazilian team, with the last international performances of the 25-year-old two years ago in March 2023.
Antony represented Brazil on the World Cup 2022 and has won 16 caps for the Selecao, but his form at United saw him fall the international pecking order.
A permanent step to protect football regularly will be particularly relevant to the winger, since the World Cup 2026 takes place at the end of next season.
Whatever happens, Antony is generally expected to come United the summer and his versions in Spain have put him in the shop window.
His time at Old Trafford initially started clearly in 2022 when he scored three goals in his first three league matches after joining his former Ajax boss ten Hag.
His par versions below saw him fall out of favor and he only played in the Premier League eight times during the first half of the 2024-25 season and played only 135 minutes of action.
The former Sao Paulo star only scored five top flight goals for the Red Devils, although during his time he won both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup at the club.
United is back in action on Thursday when they travel to Real Sociedad in the first stage of their Europa League Last-16 collision.
In the meantime, Betis is heading against the Portuguese side Vitalia Guimaraes in the Conference League.
