Trent Alexander-Arnold returns to training ahead of clash with Real Madrid
Trent Alexander-Arnold is back in training for Liverpool ahead of a crucial week of games against Real Madrid and Manchester City.
The 26-year-old took part in an open training session at the AXA Training Center ahead of Liverpool's match against Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Alexander-Arnold was forced off with a hamstring injury during the win over Aston Villa before the international break and subsequently withdrew from the England squad.
He has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, with his current contract with Liverpool expiring at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen whether he will start against Madrid on Wednesday. Conor Bradley came on as a substitute during Liverpool's win over Southampton on Sunday.
Arne Slot is expected to provide a full injury update during his pre-match press conference, which will take place at 3.15pm.
Federico Chiesa trained alone for the session and joined the main group, but there was no sign of Alisson Becker or Diogo Jota.
Mohamed Salah also attended Liverpool's training, two days after his striking statement that he has not yet been offered a new contract with Liverpool.
The 32-year-old forward made a rare chat with Mail Sport and a small group of other reporters after scoring twice in the 3-2 win over Southampton, where he said he was 'more out than in' and criticized the club .
Speaking about his contract break, Salah said: 'We are almost in December and I have not yet received any offers to stay at the club.'
'I'm probably outside more than inside. You know I've been at the club for years.
'There is no such club. But ultimately it's out of my hands. Like I said, it's December and I haven't received anything about my future yet.
'I love the fans. The fans love me. Ultimately it is not in my hands, nor in the hands of the fans.'
Salah has started well this season under new manager Arne Slot, scoring twelve goals in eighteen games in all competitions.
The Egyptian striker's comments came after he struck twice in their 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday.
Liverpool will hope to continue their perfect start to the Champions League when they host Real Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday.
The Reds are the only team in the new-look Champions League to improve a 100 percent record, having won all their matches so far.
Arne Slot's side will then host Man City in the Premier League on Sunday, knowing that a win would put them eleven points ahead of the defending champions.
