Ruben Amorim insists that he is still the man who leads Manchester United for the long term.
But the Portuguese boss knows what the consequences will be if he can no longer win competitions.
The Red Devils poured from the FA Cup to Fulham-Monorim's tenth defeat on Sunday in just 24 matches and his 14th placed silk was confronted with their worst premontency ever after a disastrous campaign.
The only route from United to silverware is the Europa League, where they are confronted tonight with a tough last-16 first stage at Real Sociedad.
Amorim recently said twice that he does not know if he will be in Old Trafford to realize the club's vision to win the Premier League by 2028.
Asked if he is the man to put them forward, Amorim said: “That is clear, I know what to do. But sometimes there is a lack of results.
“So I know the consequences if you don't win games.
“I have been confident since day one. A little more frustrated now – but I am still confident.
“I really have faith in the big goal of this club. I try to show the big whole to our supporters. “
Amorim arrived from Sporting in November, but many wondered whether the favorite 3-4-3 formation of the 40-year-old will work with this current team.
But he is not to change and said: “The system is not the problem, it is the way of playing.
“I was always very clear. I have one idea. I am still very sure, because I have an idea how to play football.
“I will not change that, whatever happens. And I'm not talking about the system, it's the way I see football.
“I won't change that. We're going to do it. Or not, we will see. “
Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte will miss the first stage in San Sebastian after both missed training and not traveled to Spain.
England Center-Back Maguire was replaced after 90 minutes of the FA Cup FA Cup fifth round Penalty-Schootout output to Fulham, while the Uruguay midfielder Ugarte was also withdrawn into the second half.
The duo has minor injuries.
Amorim added: “They are small things, so we are careful with them, because we cannot allow ourselves to lose more players at the moment.
“So we take care of them in Carrington, and they can't play this game because it will be a greater risk.”
