Carragher labels Liverpool’s win over PSG ‘one of the biggest robberies’

Jamie Carragher claimed that Liverpool's last victory over PSG was 'one of the biggest robberies in football' because he praised the amazing display of goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Liverpool claimed a dramatic 1-0 win against the ruling French champions in Paris.

Harvey Elliott scored an 87th minute winner in front of Arne Slot, only a few moments after he came from the bank, with the only effort by Liverpool on Target.

The Reds were dominated on the first stage in the Parc des Princes, where PSG had 27 shots on goal, including 10 on goal.

PSG had seen a first half attempt by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, excluded for a narrow country estate, while Alisson's heroic deeds kept the French side at a distance.

Speaking of CBS Sports Coverage, former Liverpool -defender Carragher claimed that the result was a 'theft' while he gave up Alisson's performance.

“That is one of the biggest robberies you will ever see in football,” said Carragher.

'I can't believe what I just saw, PSG was absolutely excellent, they beated Liverpool.

The last time Liverpool won the competition, Alisson Becker made a rescue against Napoli in the last group match and they could have scored if Napoli had scored.

'That is always returned as a determining moment.

'That was not a rescue tonight, that was perhaps the biggest performance of his career, especially in a Liverpool shirt.

“If Liverpool is going to win the competition, which they have a great chance of, those performance will be reminded for years.”

Alisson made nine saves at night to deny PSG, including rejecting Kvaratskhelia four times.

The Brazilian also denied the in-form usmane Dembele and colleague Frenchman Doue Twice.

Carragher's colleague expert Thierry Henry contributed to the praise of Alisson and labeled his performance as 'magnificent'.

“Place the ball in the back of the net cases, but on this you have to give Alisson a lot of praise, because I think three should have been a goal,” Henry said.

'Three, [you are thinking] He did not have the right to save that.

'There is nothing you can say about Alison Becker, he was beautiful tonight.

“If it wasn't for him, Liverpool would struggle, I don't remember many games with such saves in the Champions League.”

Liverpool will organize PSG in the second stage of the Last-16 draw on 11 March.
