So far, all data that Barcelona has publicly given for a return to Camp Nou Erreone and concern continues to grow on a project set for serious delays, in addition to considerable financial implications.
The Blaugrana had included a return to Camp Nou in the budget considerations for this year's middle season, a play area of a month of the original declared return date of November 2024. That date was then initially reduced to February, and the most recent, institutional vice-president Elena Fort for the end of the intention.
That seemed unlikely in view of the current state of the works, and this week new reports emerged, although not the first, that the Blaugrana could give up the hope to return before the end of the year. Now Beteve (via MD) has offered more disturbing information about their return date.
They say that some of the service providers for Barcelona's stadium activities have been warned that a return to normal operation in the Spotify Camp Nou will probably not come before the end of November 2025 – a full year delay on the first target of the club.
That would mean that they play the entire 125 -year anniversary year in the cold atmosphere of the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company, but more pertinent for President Joan Laporta and director of Football Deco, a big impact on their budget. Montjuic can organize a maximum of 55,000 fans, only five less than the initial capacity for Camp Nou, but the difference in MatchDay income due to presence and associated MatchDay costs in the millions.
The atmosphere at Montjuic has never been brilliant, but the club has also gone out of the way to exacerbate the problem, forbid the singing section because of anti-Laporta-hymns, and to rent the prices to levels to levels that are only affordable for one-off visits of tourists and the rich.
