Barcelona complete U-turn with fresh contract offer for Frenkie de Jong

Barcelona seems to have completed their U-turn on the future of Frenkie de Jong, where the Catalan club offers him a new contract. Earlier this season they withdrew their previous offer that had not received a response from the Dutchman, and there was talk of the end of the season.

In January it was reported that Barcelona would leave the conversations with De Jong until the summer, while rumors about a Premier League switch or even an attempt to sell him to Saudi Aarabia with the Catalan press. With De Jong struggling at the time to return to the starting XI, it was said that Barcelona was going to a sale with another year left on his contract.

However, Sport now reports that Barcelona de Jong has sent a new contract offer that would hold him in the club until 2028. The three-year contract would earn him around € 18-19 million per season, but would also see the remaining repayments from his previous deal.
