
Bayern Munich confirmed that Manuel Neuer has torn a calf muscle after celebrating a goal in their 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.
Neuer, who had made his 150th Champions League start in the game, was picked up in the 58th minute from their last 16 legs from the first legs, shortly after Jamal Musiala scored the second goal.
Vincent Kompany said that the injury was caused in the goal celebrations, where Bayern confirms that Neuer will be sidelined on Thursday.
Although the club did not give a timeline for Neuer's return, Sky Sports Germany reported that the 38-year-old will miss the next four games of Bayern, including the second stage of their draw against Leverkusen next week.

“Manuel Neuer suffered a torn muscle fiber in his right-hand gall in the 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League match on Wednesday evening,” Bayern said in a statement on Thursday.

Neuer held the most clean sheets in the Bundesliga this season (11, level with Peter Gulacsi) and has only given 15 goals. He also confronted with the least photos of every goalkeeper to play more than 10 games (133), making 23 saves.
Neuer had an enchantment on the sidelines earlier this season after breaking a rib in a DFB-Pokal loss on Leverkusen on December 3.
He has had a number of injuries in recent years and was excluded for 10 months after breaking his leg during a ski holiday in December 2022.
