Bright extends Chelsea stay to 2026

Millie Bright extended her contract with Chelsea until June 2026, with the option of another year.

The captain, whose current deal would be at the end of this season, is the longest serving player of Chelsea, who recently surpassed a decade with the club, who joined Doncaster Belles in December 2014.

Bright has made 280 performances for Chelsea in all competitions, with 165 of those who come to the Super League for women.

She has won seven WSL titles, five FA Cup medals, two League Cup trophies and the Community Shield with the Blues, while she also helped the club to reach the Champions League final in 2020-21.

Earlier this season, Bright also became the player with the most WSL victories in the history of the competition – she has now won 132 games in the competition.

“Representing this club and continuing our journey together was never a question for me,” Bright said the media channels of the club.

“This club is my home. Chelsea runs through me. The legacy continues.”

Chelsea is currently at the top of the WSL table with six more games, eight points in second place Manchester United, who have a competition in hand.

The blues want to win a sixth consecutive WSL title and their first under Sonia Bompaster, with smart enthusiastic about her future among the French wife.

“Sonia [Bompastor] has arrived and has challenged us all at new levels. Every player develops and regardless of your age or how long you have been here, everyone improves and gets better.

“It is exciting to know that the ceiling has not been set. We have moved it to a whole new level. That is really exciting to know that more is coming.”
