Vicario riles fans with full-time gesture for more support after dismal defeat

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario clashed with supporters after the club slid to a matte 1-0 defeat for AZ Alkmaar in their Europa League Last-16 draw.

Lucas Bergvall's own goal proved the difference between the parties in the Netherlands.

Vicario prevented Tottenham from lagging behind the second stage, with the Italian fine stops from Troy Parrott and Ernest Poku.

And the 28-year-old Italian tried to collect the Spurs supporters who had made the trip to the Netherlands after the last whistle.

Vicario was seen that demonstratively saved his arms to the road fans and seemed to call for more support.

Tottenham -fans brought their anger back to the goalkeeper after the last blow in a gloomy season, with the goalkeeper in return expressing frustration as he walked away.

Tottenham fans responded to Vicario's actions on social media, because someone accused the Scotstopper of making a 'cunning excavation' among supporters.

“Vicario did me, can't believe he thought it was a good idea to give it a big one to the last whistle,” wrote a fan on social media.

“Vicario et el” geeing “fans on” waving “hands … We all spent the best part of £ 500 plus, concentrate on our own performance instead of fans,” said another.

'Vicario gives it the big fans! What do you want them to bounce after paying money to view that s *** !!! F *** AFF !!! . '

Others continued by accusing the keeper of having a 'losing mentality' and claiming that they would be happy 'if he never wears the shirt again'.

'Vicario is going at the end. Happy if he never wears the shirt again, “they claimed.

Another wrote 'both booing *****. Vicario who gives us to tell us to find out the team. Go behind which size? F *** off. All useless 2 bob.

'Hundreds in the drain. You don't give up. Back to your mansions you go with your 100k+ per week. You don't care for us. '

The defeat of the first leg is the newest setback in the Tottenham season, where the Europa League proves their last chance of silverware.

The side of Ange Postecoglou started the knockout phase of the competition as the favorites of the tournament, but will have to save their last 16 draw next week.

Tottenham returns to Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on Sunday, where the club is currently 13th in the table with 14 of their 27 league matches.
