Brendan Schaub says that Alex Pereira vs Magomed Ankalaev is a blow to strikers
While many consider Magomed Ankalaev as a wrestling specialist, Brendan Schaub thinks that that cannot be further from the truth.
He says that the title Challenger is a striker, which means that fans have a treat when the MMA star throws away with Alex Pereira on Saturday evening.
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Schaub explained: “The main event, I can't wait for it. This is for Alex, especially because he has had heavy weight, everyone is like this: 'He has to fight against a grappler, that is his Achilles heel.'
“I can't emphasize this enough, listen to me very well: I know that Ankalaev is a Dagestani, we know they have a great wrestling background, but he doesn't train with the Khabib Nurmagomedov team.
“His background is Sambo, but his fighting style cannot be clearer. All facts show this.
“Ankalaev, listen to very F— – carefully, is a striker in all respects, he gives a striker a striker. This is not a test of grappler versus striker, the fight at UFC 313, is striker versus striker. “
