Former Real Madrid -Baas Fabio Capello is not impressed by the first season of Kylian Mbappe in the Spanish capital.
Los Blancos finally completed a step to bring in the captain of France last summer, while he finally came to a free transfer after leaving PSG.
After a delayed start of the preseason, because of the Run from France to the semi -final of UEFA Euro 2024, Mbappe joined his new teammates at the beginning of August.
The most important debate about his place in Madrid was aimed at how Carlo Ancelotti would fit him and Vinicius Junior in the same starting line.
Mbappe played in a freer role on the left side of the PSG attack in the same place that Vinicius himself had made in Madrid.
Ancelotti constantly brought away questions about the duo and unable to shine together with his continuous plan to start Mbappe at the center.
After a few injury problems at the start of the campaign, Mbappe started on fire, with Ancelotti delighted through his impact through the center of Real Madrid's attack.
As the De Run-in campaign approaches, Mbappe is scored a maximum of 28 goals in 41 games for Real Madrid in 2024/25, with Vinicius on 18 from 37.
However, Capello – those two La Liga titles won in two spells in Madrid – believes that the couple will not click at a high level in 2025.
“Mbappe and Vinicius JR play in the same position, they step together and do not perform well”, according to an interview with FlashScore.
“As individuals, they can do what others cannot do in tight spaces, and do things that nobody else thinks about, but that is not the harmony of the team game.
“Real Madrid is a team of galacticos in the front, with midfield problems after Toni Kroos left last summer, and they also have problems in defense with many injuries.”
