Francis Marshall issues a explanation after SCHOK UFC 313 defeat
On Sunday morning, Marshall issued a statement of social media with regard to his controversial UFC 313 loss.
The 8-3 MMA star, which dropped to 2-3 in the Octagon, kept it stylish as he thinks about the fight that some people call a 'theft'.
“Wow, last night clearly did not go accordingly and I did not get the outcome I was hoping for,” Marshall wrote on Instagram.
“I appreciate all the positive support from everyone, it means a lot. I can lean back and complain about poor assessment, but that is not in my control. The only thing I can control is how I am bouncing back from this loss and what I can do in the future to prevent this happening again.
“At the end of the day there is no one who is to blame except myself, I did not pull the tractor enough and I did not listen to my corner as I should.
“With all that, I am a completely different hunter than 6 months ago. The last 9 weeks before this fight we have made a lot of improvements in every part of my game. I know that I am in the right place with the best team, coaches and training partners in the world.
“The next time I don't let it be close enough to be a question with the judges. And without those 3 great men in my corner I could not have been such a performance, and I know they will make me better for the next one. I can't thank them enough.
“I am always grateful that the UFC gives me opportunities to show my skills on the largest stage in the world. I can do what I love for a career and not many people can say the same.
“Don't forget that it is always easy to blame someone or something else for things that happen to us, but it is usually the person in the mirror who is to blame. I hope to be back soon, thanks everyone. “
Joe Rogan calls on UFC 313 jury members
One of the UFC 313 jury members scored the fight 30-27 and gave all three rounds to Marshall.
However, that card was canceled by the other two judges, who scored 29-28 for Santos.
Joe Rogan could not hide his shock about the verdict, which he called a “bad decision.”
The co-commentators of the UFC legend Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik agreed
Rogan believed that a 30-27 Scorecard in favor of Marshall was more logical than 29-28 for his opponent.
Unfortunately, having the support of Rogan and a couple of fans will not change anything for Marshall, who is now confronted with an anxious waiting to see if he will still have a shot in the UFC.
