The light-heavyweight champion received a visit from Mark Zuckerberg only a few moments before he took the walk for his confrontation with Magomed Ankalaev. When photos came from the exchange, fans immediately started theoretizing that Pereira was struck by the 'Zuckerberg Curse'.
There is a theory in MMA that encountered Zuckerberg before a fight can cause a different dominant world champion to lose his belt. And Lo-and-Behold 'Patan' suffered his first defeat since he went to light weight.

Fans immediately started their worries last night when the UFC Espana account shared a photo of Alex Pereira who was affiliated with Backstage by Mark Zuckerberg. The Meta Boss is a huge fan and has even participated in Jiu-Jitsu with a view to a fight eventually.
His happiness when it comes to supporting hunters, however, has not been great, with fans theory that his support is provided with a 'Zuckerberg Curse'. He trained famous and took photos with Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski in the summer of 2023.

Within moths of those sessions, both men had lost their world titles in the middleweight and featherweight respectively. Since then, neither Adesanya or Volkanovski who were once completely dominant have won a fight.
After the fight last night, fans immediately started hanging the photo again and remember that his record with hunters is not good. “It is hilarious that every time Zuckerberg chooses a UFC fight, they lose,” wrote a user next to photos that the meta boss showed with Volkanovski, Pereira and Mackenzie Dern.
Rapper Drake has a similar 'curse' for hunters
Mark Zuckerberg is not the only celebrity that is known for a curse when it comes to the UFC. Rapper Drake is also known to everyone, in addition to guaranteeing a defeat for everyone he supports to win in the Octagon or the boxing ring.

He is known for placing huge money bets on fighting, but almost always losing when it comes to the UFC or Boxing. Drake Wedde famous on Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul in November and posed for a photo with Conor McGregor for his fight with Floyd Mayweather.
He also bet on Israel Adesanya to beat Sean Strickland in one of the first fights to start the 'Zuckerberg Curse'. He put $ 950,000 on the Champio to keep his belt.
