And United Great Wayne Rooney has thrown his support on the 22-year-old road.

Rooney, 39, said at the competition of the day: “A striker for Manchester United, if you don't score goals, there is a lot of pressure, many people talk about you.

“Can you do it for Manchester United? I think it is best to simplify it and of course make the runs in penalty boxes is just as easy as it comes – you have to run them.

“But simplifying the game, getting the ball, lying off, getting into the box, getting the ball out of it, getting into the penalty box, bringing yourself into the best position to score goals.

“You trust nine out of 10 times on your teammates to give your chances and put the ball in the box or slide balls behind it.

“Maybe he didn't do that – he has not received that service lately. But I have faith in him.

“I think he is a good player and he works hard. I think that is really important.

“I think he just needs that goal and as soon as he gets it, they will all begin to come.”
