Beneil Dariush is somewhat open to fighting against Mauricio Ruffy after his viral knockout on UFC 313.
The 'Fighting Nerds' of the UFC quickly take over 2025 with Mauricio Ruffy and his teammate Jean Silva-Score style points on the way to the first round finishes. Nicknamed 'One Shot', that is all that was needed for Ruffy to exclude the lights for 50-Fight Veteran King Green on Saturday evening.
Ruffy landed a flush spinning heel kick on Green and sent him with the face down to the canvas in the opening round. Three months after 2025, many fans call Ruffy's highlight the 'KO of the year'.
UFC commentator Daniel Cormier would go so far that it was one of the best knockouts of all time.

Mauricio Ruffy calls his shot after UFC 313
Closed mouths are not fed with the 28-year-old Ruffy who has already called five rounds against a seasoned top 10 candidate in Beneil Dariush.
“Mauricio Ruffy vs. Beneil Dariush, a main event” Fight Night “… what do you think?” Said Ruffy in the Portuguese during his interview after the fight.
DariUush holds the #9 ranking list in the lightweight division and is no stranger to call call-outs and hears more of them lately because he comes from back-to-back losing. Admittedly, those defeats were against the top two contenders in Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan.
Beneil Dariush responds to UFC 313 call-out
Looking at UFC 313 from the sidelines, Dariush says that he was finally impressed by what he saw from Ruffy.
“I spoke with my friends, I had something like that, I am pretty sure that he will finish him in the first round,” Dariush told Submission Radio. “Then he finished them like that … I had something like that, it was even more impressive than what I expected.
“I would say that I was generally very impressed by the man.”
Dariush continued, with regard to the chance of a fight between him and the exciting Brazilian striking.
“Regarding the call-out, man, man, you could call who you want. I don't really care. It's just than Dana [White]Sean Shelby and Hunter [Campbell]… it depends on who they want me to fight, right?
“That's a bit where I am now. There was a period in which I fought a boys much outside the ranking and it didn't really make me ahead. So at the moment I want to take the fights that go to the title the fastest. So that is really what I am waiting for to get that call and be, okay, you fight against this guy, you fight against that guy who is arranged. That is the ideal situation. “
During his 8-Fight win-streak in the lightweight division, Dariush fought a handful of unaffected opponents and continued in the ranking, but unfortunately no title chances.
At the age of 35, Dariush is still set to capture the lightweight title of Islam Makhachev, willing to do what is needed to finally get there.
'If they call me to fight him, then it is. Then we fight him, “Dariush said about a potential fight with Ruffy.
Dariush was initially planned to return to Renato Moicano earlier this year against Renato Moicano, but the matchup was canceled because Moicano was ininated as a short-notice replacement to fight the Makhakev champion.
