Benfica fans brawl with Barcelona stewards with limbs everywhere during UCL KO

Benfica supporters clashed with stewards after their Champions League defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday.

The Portuguese side suffered a 3-1 loss for the team of Hansi Flick in Estadi Olimpic Lluís Company.

They then poured out of the Champions League by losing 4-1 aggregated.

Proponents remained full -time and collided with stewards in the stands.

Some fans and stewards seemed to touch each other, with objects thrown.

Both sets supporters clashed outside the stadium before the game.

The fixture was considered a high risk before the collision, where Barcelona led a total of 1-0.

Raphinha broke the impasse with a 11th minute strike before Nicolas Otamendi only made a few moments later.

Barcelona then sealed the victory thanks to extra goals from Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

After the game, Flick said: “Of course I am happy. We respected Benfica, their coach.

“It was a difficult game for us, but we did very well.”

He added on Yamal: “I am very happy for him; he has not scored for a while. He was also happy because it was an important goal for us.

“He was great. He shows a lot of confidence; the goal came at the perfect moment.”
