Most Valuable Promotions has released an official statement in response to claims that Jake Paul's recent record-breaking boxing fight against Mike Tyson was 'rigged'.

On November 15, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson controversially competed in the biggest combat sports event in modern history, becoming the first sporting event to be streamed live on Netflix.

The monumental event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, broke every viewership record since Muhammad Ali, with the streaming giant announcing it drew 108 million live viewers worldwide.

Jake Paul's team releases official statement on 'fictitious claims'

'The Problem Child' went on to take the unanimous decision after dominating the 58-year-old throughout the entire eight-round fight.

However, as with several of Paul's previous professional boxing fights, much of the sport's fanbase has accused the 27-year-old and his team of 'rigging' his fight against 'Iron Mike'.

Fans have highlighted a specific clip from the controversial fight, claiming Tyson lashed out at his punch instead of landing it flush on the internet sensation-turned-boxer's chin.

With this, Most Valuable Promotions has released an official statement in the form of a press release, in response to 'fictitious claims'.

“Following the widespread dissemination of false and unsubstantiated claims undermining the integrity of the Paul vs Tyson event, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) would like to set the record straight regarding the contractual agreements and the nature of the fight,” the press release began. .

“Both fighters performed to the best of their ability in good faith with the goal of winning the fight. There were absolutely no restrictions – contractual or otherwise – surrounding either fighter. Each boxer could use his full arsenal to win the fight.

“Trash talk and speculation are common in sports, and athletes and promoters must tolerate nonsensical comments, jokes and opinions,” the press release continued.

As previously mentioned, this isn't the first time 'The Problem Child' has been accused of fixing fights, as fans claimed that Paul's second fight against Tyron Woodley was predetermined.

The 28-year-old's manager and co-founder of MVP, Nakisa Bidarian, said: “This isn't the first time Jake Paul has faced unfounded skepticism or outright disbelief as a professional athlete. his rigging is just the latest backhanded compliment to come his way.

“Jake has not only proven himself repeatedly, but he has consistently set historical records that speak for themselves. This event, which has achieved milestones in attendance and viewership for a professional sporting event, is another example of its ability to deliver on the biggest stage.

“As long as Jake continues to exceed expectations, there will always be those who try to discredit his achievements. We embrace the doubt – it only pushes Jake to work harder and achieve more success,” Bidarian continued.
