The return from Thibaut Courtois to the Belgian team continues to make waves for the international break.
Real Madrid's No.1 is currently in eighth place on the all time list of performances for the Red Devils with 102 caps for his comeback.
Courtois made the controversial decision to temporarily resign from the international service in August 2024 after a controversial dispute with former coach Domenico Tedesco.
After the decision of the Belgian FA to dismiss Tedesco in the early 2025, the door was reopened for Courtois, with new head coach Rudi Garcia Open for a reconciliation.
Despite the furore surrounding the story, Courtois tied to his weapons about the issue and claimed that he was 'right' about the disagreement, but his mission to play on the FIFA World Cup 2026 is strong.
Garcia has reminded him of the panel, but there are rumors that various squadron members are unhappy with the observed favoritism, fueled by Koen Castels' comments.
Casteel has been admitted in the absence of Courtois, but he has now retired from international football about the debacle and claims that the 'red carpet was rolled out' for the Los Blancos star.
Courtois will probably make his first performance in the fold in Spain, while Belgium will compete against Ukraine in a UEFA Nations League play -off in neutral Murcia, and Garcia could bravely select him as a captain.
“We start with an empty slate. I will only see the players on Monday, but we will talk to the leaders again about what happened, “he said during the team's announcement.
“But after that I will not stop to consider what happened. Otherwise we will not make progress.
“I have an idea in my head there [the captaincy]. Kevin [De Bruyne}, Romelu [Lukaku] And Thibaut are all certainly candidates. We will see who the leaders are next week. '
De Bruyne replaced Eden Hazard – who is now the assistant coach of Garcia – as a captain in 2022, which is said to have fueled the first row of Courtois with Tedesco.
