Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel reveals he’ll sing national anthem on one condition as he prepares to lead out England

New England -Baas Thomas Tuchel sings the national anthem – but only after we have won a few games.

The new German manager revealed yesterday that he will not spread God, save the king when he takes the lead for the first time in Wembley next week.

But he promised that he will participate in the players when they achieve a few victories under his leadership, and he “deserved the right”.

His revelation comes after the then manager of England, Lee Carsley, yielded controversy last year by refusing to sing the national anthem.

Tuchel, 51, also revealed that he was proud of the Royal Seal of Prince William's approval, who told the Sun that he is the “best manager for the job” and could even win the World Cup.

While he unveiled his first English team yesterday, Tuchel joked the heir of the throne “Pushing Hard” for him to record players from his beloved Aston Villa.

FA Patron William and Tuchel have met twice since the former Chelsea and PSG boss took the track in England last month, including in Windsor Castle.

But they did not discuss the national anthem.

Tuchel said yesterday: 'I haven't told him at the moment.

“It didn't come up.

“But I made my decision.

“I think you first of all have a very powerful, emotional and meaningful national anthem, and I could not be more proud to be on the sidelines and to be in charge of the English national team.

“It means everything.

“It means a lot to me, I can assure you.

“But I can feel because it is so useful and it is so emotional and it is so powerful the national anthem that I have to earn my right to sing it.

“I feel that it is not just a given.

“You can't just sing it.

“That's why I decided that I wouldn't sing it in my first games.”

Tuchel will therefore remain silent when it is played in a sold-out Wembley Stadium before the World Cup qualifications of 2026 against Albania on Friday evening and Latvia next Monday.

But he said: “I will earn it with results, with building a group, doing my work well and by creating a feeling where perhaps even you say at some point:” Now it's time to sing it, it feels like you deserve it well and you are a real English guy now! “

“Maybe I have to dive more into culture and earn my right from the players, from the supporters, so everyone feels like:” He should now sing it, he is one of us, he is the English manager, he should sing it. ” “

William said exclusively to the sun and said that the former manager of Bayern Munich is the “best person for the job” and winning the World Cup next summer is “absolutely possible”.

Tuchel was open about their meetings and said yesterday that he was honored to get the Prince's support, and added: “It makes me very proud.”

Asked whether William's prediction could end a German for 60 years of pain “adds pressure,” he said, “Yes, of course.

“The pressure comes with the job and the pressure is a privilege to be in this role.”

He continued: “Once I met his royal highness during a competition and we had a meeting in Windsor Castle at the time and it was just nothing but impressive the way he speaks and how emotionally he supports Aston Villa and of course the national team.

“It's just that impressive.

“It was so nice to talk to him about football.

“He has a strong opinion.”

Tuchel then joked: “He pushed hard for the Aston Villa players, who was not necessary because we admire them a lot and we admire a lot of what happens there in the club.

“But it means a lot and it is just something whole, very special that is accompanied by the role and it is an honor and a privilege and comes with great responsibility.”

Aston Villa stars Ezri Konsa and Morgan Rogers Plus Marcus Rashford, currently on loan from Manchester United, all made Tuchel's first 26-man team.

The recall of Rashford was not the only surprise – because there was also a return for Ajax – midfielder Jordan Henderson, who last played for England in November 2023.

Newcastle defender than Burn received his first call-up at the age of 32, while Arsenal Starlet Miles Lewis-Skelly, 18, also plays for the first time.

But Jack Grealisk van Manchester City has been omitted.

William, President 19 years before he was abandoned after Euro 2024, remembered that he comforted the players immediately after their heartbreaking loss against Spain in Berlin.

He told the sun that it was “the most difficult changing room I have ever walked into”.

After Baas Gareth Southgate stopped, he greeted his “humility, compassion and real leadership under the most intense pressure and control”.

Naming a foreign replacement led to criticism of the FA, but William told the sun this week Tuchel was the right candidate.

He said: “I understand the debate about having an English manager, but for me it should be the best person for the job – and Thomas is exactly the right person.

“He is one of the top five managers in the world.

“It would be great if he could win the World Cup – it is absolutely possible.”

The prince also described his love for Aston Villa before they saw how they defeated Club Brugge on Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

He also revealed that he is going undercover on online fan forums.

And he was praised for his recognition that he found the TV -Black -out on Saturday 'annoying' because he cannot always come to Villa Park.

A fan on the Reddit AVFC forum said, “Really the prince of the people.”

Another added: “Nice humility of him, especially because he cannot easily come to Villa Park.

“I imagine that his entourage is huge.

“You know that there are many bodyguards around him and there is a reason why he is always in the back.”

Another joke: “I wonder what his Reddit handle is.”

On fan forum heroes and villains, even non-royalists were happy that he was there to see Villa.

One, Rob Bridge, said: 'Good. Regardless of my preference for a chosen head of state, the excellent PR for the club is. “

And Villa Tim added: 'He loves the villa.

“Great to see it and he enjoys it.”

A third – called Brazilian villain – referred to the club's glory days when they won the European Cup 1982.

He joked: “He was born in June 82.

“Who else could he choose than the ruling European champions?”

Another purple pants, joked: “I am Prince William.”

The prince is planning to travel to France next month for the first leg of Villa against PSG.

But next week he will miss the first England match of Tuchel due to obligations in Estonia, where he will support British troops on the western border of NATO.
