Chelsea close in on La Liga star in double Sporting Lisbon swoop

Chelsea is planning to complete their transfer activities early for the 2025/26 season with two steps that are almost complete for Enzo Maresca.

The blues are fighting to secure the likely fifth UEFA Champions League qualifying place of the Premier League in the campaign run-in.

This will have an important impact on their ability to finance certain transfer movements and to attract important Squadron goals with two players from Sporting Lisbon on the horizon at Stamford Bridge.

The charges of Maresca have already agreed a deal for a highly rated wing geovany Quenda to participate at the end of the season, despite interest from former boss Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

The next step from Maresca will be for Dario Essugo who will impress La Liga degradation Battlers Las Palmas this season.

It was reported that Chelsea Essugo tried to sign before the winter transfer window was closed at the beginning of February, but they could not close a deal.

That was positive for Las Palmas, who succeeded in holding the 20-year-old until the end of the season, because they look to fight for a top flight survival.

Essugo will not stay in any scenario in Las Palmas and Chelsea is ready to launch a € 22 million raid on the Portugal U21 International.

Reports from Portuguese Outlet a Bola claim that the combined deal for Quenda and Essugo will bring about € 51 million to Sporting Lisbon because they want to encourage a delicate financial situation.

The place of Essugo in Las Palmas will remain unchanged for the time being after they have a dramatic 2-2 home home with Alaves in their last game for the international break.

With ten games to be played in 2024/25, Las Palmas is currently two points away from safety, with six teams still in relegation, including Valencia, Espanyol, Alaves, Leganes and Real Valladolid.
