Jules Kounde sets out Barcelona’s ‘revenge mission’ against Atletico Madrid

The La Liga title race can take a decisive turn in the next 48 hours while Barcelona goes to Atletico Madrid.

In anticipation of the competitions of the weekend, Barcelona is currently leading the title package, but only on the basis of their head-to-had record against second place Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid collapsed controversially from the UEFA Champions League against Los Blancos in the midweek, and is in third place, only one point behind the El Clasico Giants.

All three parties are still firm in the race for a potential La Liga and Copa del Rey Double this season and this weekend will be the key.

If Carlo Ancelotti can achieve a positive result in Villarreal today today, Hansi Flick and Diego Simeone will need a comment tomorrow to prevent a title gap.

Barcelona AE currently on a 17-game unbeaten run, which started in their first match of 2025, but they are frustrated by Simeone this season.

The added time of Alexander Sorloth took a 2-1 LA Liga victory in Catalonia in December, and the two parties fought a 4-4 Copa del Rey Semi drawing of the first leg in February, while Sorloth again finished after the 90 minutes.

That reinforced the deployment prior to this competition – in addition to a Copa del Rey second stage on April 2 – and France International Jules Kounde is out for revenge in Madrid.

“Naturally [we’re looking for revenge]. We did not like the last two results against Atletico Madrid because we want to win everything and especially against a direct rival, “according to reports from Marca.

“I think we played two good games in those earlier matches, but we both missed the victory due to small problems.

“So yes, we want to go there and win this weekend.”

Van Flick is expected to make one start change after the midweek victory on Benfica, with Pau Cubarsi suspended for the second stage, while Ronald Arajo turned in.
