As UFC analyst Laura Sanko has discovered first -hand, you can never judge a book on the cover – especially if that book 'Do Bronx' reads.
Laura Sanko is not only one of the best and most popular UFC experts/commentators there are, but she is also a valued BJJ -joslippler and former MMA hunter herself.
In the early days of her career, Sanko trained under the custody of Plinio Cruz, future coach of light heavyweight superstar Alex Pereira, who once introduced her to a rather modest 'skinny, Dorky' child in New Jersey.

Laura Sanko remembers for the first time to see Charles Oliveira
Earlier this week, Laura Sanko joined veteran UFC coach Eric Nicksick and co-guestheer Randy Faehnrich on the 'Fresh US Podcast' to talk about all things mixed martial arts.
The podcast for almost two hours is packed with interesting and hilarious stories from the entire MMA world; The most important of these was Sanko's Time Training with Plinio Cruz, more than ten years ago.
“He was a great coach for me … He always treated me just like everyone else, it was great … He was a great teacher, but he was really young, I think he was just a brown belt [at the time]I don't know how old he would have been, but [he was] young.”
While Sanko recalled her time training with Cruz, who would eventually go coach Alex Pereira, she remembered the first time she saw Charles Oliveira in the training room.
“Funny story, I remember taught in a gym in the city, but he was part of the Gold Team system of Macaco in New Jersey where all Brazilians lived, so now and then he would be like:” Hey, we're going to take a group and we're going to train at macacos this weekend, so get a train with us and go. “
“And I remember once, we went outside and he was like 'Do you see that child there in the corner there? That child, that child will be champion one day '… I look around, and there is a thin, dorky, cola bottle glasses that sits there and I am something like' okay, sure, looks like '. “
From the tone of Sanko, she clearly did not think that the assessment of Cruz was accurate or probably – it turns out that the 'skinny, dorky' – child in the corner was none other than future lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira.
Charles Oliveira ranked on the second best BJJ-Jaspler in UFC history
Charles Oliveira is perhaps the most beloved MMA hunter in the entire schedule, who has now participated 34 times 34 times in the UFC-Oachthoek since 2010 a record setting of 16 entry victories.
However, when Bloody Elbow recently compiled an extensive top 10 ranking list of the best BJJ jokes in UFC history, 'Do Bronx' only claimed the silver medal.
The next fight by Oliveira has not yet been announced, although there are rumors that he could be planned to welcome former featherweight champion Ilia Topuria in the scene of 155 pounds.
'Do Bronx' bounced back from a controversial loss for Arman Tsarukyan on UFC 300 with a unanimous decision victory over Michael Chandler in his last fight – he is currently the #2 -arranged lightweight in the world.
