RB Leipzig broke their four-match Winless Streak in the Bundesliga with a 2-0 home victory on Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, ending their hope for ending in the top four.
The victory moved Leipzig to the fifth in the table on 42 points after 26 games, right with the fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt, who will travel to VFL Bochum on Sunday. Dortmund, who has had a terrible competition campaign so far, is 11th.
Leipzig shot out of the blocks and had a number of chances early, with Xavi Simons who opened their account in the 18th minute, a rebound hit home after Dortmund -goalkeeper Gregor Kobel Left Back David Raum denied.
The hosts doubled their lead after the interval by Lois Openda, who did not mark it on the distant pole during a corner and showed an excellent technique at the delivery of Volley Simons in the net in the 48th minute.
