Arteta’s ‘reason’ for 25-goal hotshot leaving for £4m despite striker issues

Mikel Arteta let Mika Biereth Arsenal leave if the young striker supposedly did not meet the criteria of what he likes to see in a goalheader.

The offer of Arsenal on a first Premier League crown in more than 20 years this season has been hit by a striking crisis. Injuries to Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka have played their role as a series of not convincing versions, they let 13 points behind leaders Liverpool slide, although the Reds have played more a game.

Arsenal had the 22-year-old Biereth left for North London last summer for Sturm Graz in a £ 4 million deal. Since he left the Premier League, Biereth has scored 25 goals together for the Austrian side and then the French outfit Monaco, to whom he earned a move in the January transfer star.

Arsenal was connected to various strikers in the winter window, but did not bring in any £ 60 million for Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa rejected. Midfielder Mikel Merino has since been deployed in an unknown position in advance while Arsenal has worked in the competition and for the goal.

In the meantime, it is in Ligue 1 where the astonishing goals of Biereth perhaps forced the arsenal hierarchy to admit that the ruthless striker they were looking for might have been in their ranks all the time.

Biereth came on the bench on the bench several times, but was reportedly not seen as fully compatible with the profile that Arteta prefers in players leading the line.

The young person was always seen as a direct and powerful runner, according to athletics, but it has been discussed how quickly he sharpened other parts of his game – something that Arsenal clearly did not provide as fast as it has.

Although there was little screaming under the Arsenal fan base for Biereth to be promoted to the first team, this was partly due to him who went under the radar since he came to the club in 2021 after he had passed the ranks in Fulham.

Loans on the Dutch side RKC Waalwijk and the Scottish Premiership -Outfit Motherwell saw the striker bag eight goals in both movements. Sturm Graz saw the potential of the attacker and took him on loan where he knew nine goals in 22 games. The Austrian side then signed permanent beereth.

After 14 goals in 25 games for Sturm Graz, Biereth was broken up by Monaco for £ 12 million. He has been set on fire since the landing in Ligue 1 and scored three hat tricks in his first 10 games.

The 22-year-old now has 11 goals and three assists in 11 games for the Ligue 1-side. However, the young attacker has viewed his exit from Arsenal in a positive light.

“Making at Arsenal is not the all and the end of someone's career,” Biereth said the athletics in November. “There are many ways to have a successful career outside of Arsenal.”

One day the Gunners could possibly come back for Biereth if they continue to suffer for the goal. And the Danish Youth International born in London admitted last year that he would like to return to the Emirates Stadium at a certain moment.

“If I keep playing well and scored goals, hopefully a change can come,” he said, still at Sturm Graz. “A return back to Arsenal would be fantastic, but it is not something I am now concentrating on.”
