Man Utd hopeful Onana will be fit for Leicester despite availability doubts

Andre Onana probably plays in Doel for Manchester United in Leicester City, despite doubts about his availability due to illness.

There was speculation that the young Noord -Dermot is in line to make his senior debut at the King Power Stadium after Onana had missed the training in Carrington on Saturday.

But Mail Sport understands that the condition of Onana has improved and it is hoped that it will be suitable for the Premier League collision on Sunday evening with MEE as a backup on the couch.

The Cameroon International is the only senior keeper available for head coach Ruben Amorim with Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton since the beginning of February due to an injury.

Mee, 22, is one of a number of youth team holders who have been on the bench in the last nine games, including Elyh Harrison, Hubert Graczyk and William Murdock.

Onana has been in good shape lately, bouncing back from an error against Ipswich to produce impressive versions in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal last weekend and both legs of the Europa League Last-16 victory over Real Sociedad.

Amorim still has a number of players out of operation, but Mason Mount could return to the team against Leicester for the first time since he was injured in the Manchester Derby in December.

Manuel Ugarte was back on the couch in Thursday's second stage against Sociedad, and Harry Maguire can also be available against his old club after an absence of three games. Patrick Dorgu-Die was excellent against Sociedad-Erdt, however, the last match of a three-match-ban.

“Mason Mount is going to return very slowly,” said the United Boss. “We have players like he needs. I think he will be on the couch, we will see. We need him and every player.

'If he is fit, I will take him. He can't play too many minutes, but only five minutes Mason Mount is perfect.

'With different competitions we have to rotate because we risk a little. Casemiro, for example, was so tired (after sociedad) and we didn't want to risk Ugarte.

'Kobbie (Mainoo) may come back in a few weeks, I am not sure. Harry Maguire We have tried not to risk. We will see on Sunday. '
