Ryan Spann suffered 15-second knockout as Dana White watched before 13-fight UFC run

Ryan Spann needed two snacks at De Kers to secure his place on the UFC selection: 'Superman' flies back in the promotion at UFC Vegas 104 this weekend.

This weekend's Fight Night Card is your standard top show, with a large number of promotional veterans who compete in the 'Warehouse of Dreams' on Saturday 15 March.

One of those veterans is Contender Series Alumni Ryan 'Superman' Spann, who earned his famous place at the UFC schedule a year after he was evil for Dana White.

The UFC official period from Ryan Spann could not have started worse

In 2017, the UFC launched a new show for Scouting Talent – Dana White's Contender Series – where Ryan Spann had the opportunity to compete for the UFC CEO in the third episode only.

'Superman' was matched against unbeaten American Karl 'Baby K' Roberson and despite entering the Octagon as a small favorite, it is safe to say that the UFC official period from Spann could not have had a worse start.

Less than five seconds in the opening round, the two 205lbers were pressed against the fence. But when Spann tried to secure a Takedown by reaching to Roberson's leg, 'Superman' left his head in the danger zone.

Roberson benefited from that toe-like opening with vicious intention, in which two short elbows landed from the inside that saw Spann to the Canvas for what the second TKO loss of his career was.

After his shock Ko loss on DWCs, Spann was sent back to the regional scene; And after three stop wins in the LFA, including claiming the light heavyweight title of the promotion, a second shot at a UFC contract earned.

'Superman' bounced back with Stop-Start 13-Fight UFC Run

In June 2018, Spann again had the opportunity to fight DWCs and against Emiliano Sordi, 'Superman' was not about to let his UFC dream slip away a second time.

Only 10 seconds in the first round, the American landed a powerful right hand that Sordi dropped, who climbed from the bottom and would shoot a panic branch, causing his neck to be exposed.

Spann quickly locked a guillotine choke and brought his opponent to sleep after the referee did not see him tap -with his UFC contract secured, 'Superman' was on his way to the races.

The official UFC-Run of Spann started with four consecutive victories, but in September 2020 he came across a Johnny Walker at the time, who finished him with an annoying elbow strike in the first round.

The American went 3-1 in his next four fights, the best of which was a sensational first round knockout victory over Dominick Reyes in November 2022.

Unfortunately, Spann would then suffer back-to-back-back defeats, although in his last fight he recovered with another impressive victory of Guillotine Choke over Ovince St. Preux.

Ryan Spann has now chosen to go to heavyweight and will compete against Waldo Cortes-Acosta at the UFC Vegas 104: Vettori vs Dolidze 2 Prelims-Het event is planned for Saturday 15 March.
