Rasmus Hojlund ended his 21-game goal drought when Manchester United won in the wrestling of Leicester City to push the foxes closer to the drop.
Match report
The Danish striker had not scored since December 12, but grabbed the bad defense to claim more open the 28th minute before Alejandro Garnacho added a second after the break – his first goal in 24 performances.
Bruno Fernandes added a 90th minute third to underline the dominance of United.
However, the victory was infected by a potential serious injury to defender Ayden Heaven, who was taken away in the 51st minute after he had fallen awkward in just his second career start.
The result did not change much in the Premier League season of United and lifted them from the 15th to the 13th, but it maintained their momentum after banging Real Sociedad on Thursday to reach the Europa League Quarter Finals.
However, Leicester looks doomed to an immediate return to the championship after a 13th defeat in 14 games, kept them the second bottom and nine points of safety.
The Foxes will be the first team in the history of top flight that loses seven consecutive home games without scoring, because they have now not found the net in the competition in the King Power Stadium since December 8.
They rarely looked like ending their own drought and could fall behind before the strike of Hojlund when the curling effort of Christian Eriksen hit the mail.
Hojlund opened the score, Fernandes' Pass Die Boubakary Soumare catched, while Wout Faes was for the rush to find the bottom corner.
There was also relief for Garnacho- who previously had a goal of being offside- when he made 2-0 after 67 minutes when he made more miserable defense.
Fernandes wiped in a third from the edge of the area when United drove to victory, while Leicester, managed by former United Striker and Interim -Baas Ruud van Nistelrooy, were hurled.
