Tuchel takes first England training session ahead of debut against Albania

Thomas Tuchel held his first training session prior to his debut as an English boss later this week.

The long waiting time to see the former Chelsea manager in the Drie Lions who have been dug out is almost over, but first the work is to ensure that Tuchel's 26-man team can help to get his term of office at the perfect start at Wembley.

The German was all smiling as England stars reported on Monday in St George's Park and he was later seen that he led his troops out for their first session.

England will take on Albania and Latvia in Wembley in the next seven days. Tuchel, who officially started working on January 1 after his appointment in October, has been given the task of winning the 2026 World Cup in less than 18 months.

Given the explained goal, his first national team selection raised more than a few eyebrows on Friday. One of the surprise names was Manchester United loaner Marcus Rashford.

The attacker has been rejuvenated since his move to Aston Villa in January and he could be seen among the English stars who assumed the field in Staffordshire on Monday afternoon.

Upon arrival on the base of England, Rashford saw a warm hug to share with Jordan Henderson, with the former captain of Liverpool a Schokkeze van Tuchel who apparently had ended his international career by Gareth Southgate last year when he was omitted from the English team for Euro 2024.

Henderson caught up with a lot from his teammates, including Jude Bellingham, Delan Rice and Reece James, while he had a hug with Tuchel in the same way.

There was also the sight of Dan Burn at England's head office, only a few hours after he won the Carabao Cup with Newcastle. The gigantic defender had scored and a brilliant performance in the 2-1 victory of the Magpies over Liverpool in the final near Wembley.

Burn, 32, earned his first call-up last week, even though he could never be seen at any level for the three lions, because Tuchel chose to reward the defender for his fine form in St James' park in the past three years.

Various regular members of the team, including people like Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane and Jordan Pickford, looked in positive spirits on arrival, but slightly less experienced names were also among the group.

Myles Lewis-Skelly had a delighted expression on his face when he first reported for the duty after his breakout campaign for Arsenal.

Elsewhere, Tino Livramento, Morgan Rogers and James Trafford were also greeted in public.

A number of those stars, including Burn, Livramento and Lewis-Skelly, were not seen in the images released by the FA of the session, after they had played in matches on Sunday.

Although, Curtis Jones was one of the training participants, despite the fact that he was a late replacement in the last defeat of Liverpool's League Cup by the Magpies.
