Newcastle chief tells club to resist ANY offers for star Alexander Isak

Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rahalyyan has told the club's hierarchy to resist all offers for his favorite player Alexander Isak this summer.

The Governor of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Aarabia, the majority owners of the club, was at Wembley on Sunday to see the Magpies lift their first domestic trophy in 70 years. He looked at the 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final of the Royal Box, before he came to the team of Wembley's Boxpark for a festive party.

And we understand that the Saudi chef is adamant that Isak, scorer of the second goal against the Reds, will not go anywhere. Sources have told us that Al-Rahayyan is Zoeter on the Swedish striker than any other player.

We can reveal that Barcelona viewed the 25-year-old during last week's 1-0 win at West Ham, and it is said that the Spanish giants want a tent that is signed for their first full season in the redeveloped Nou-Camp. Barca President Joan Laporta is a huge admirer of Isak, who played in Laliga for Real Sociedad.

Newcastle has not discussed an asking price for their star, because the message is clear from above – Al -Rahayyan and PIF do not want to sell. He has three years to walk his contract and talks about an improved deal will be investigated at the end of the season. However, a return to the Champions League could still be the key to give the player the salary he deserves and to match his ambition.

In the meantime, Newcastle is planning a celebration to mark their Carabao Cup victory on Saturday 29 March on Tyneside. The event gives fans the chance to see the trophy shown by Eddie Howe and his players.
