After a long break, the former middleweight Challenger title could not announce his return with a victory on Saturday evening.
Marvin Vettori has given all his thoughts in a statement after the fight after a defeat against Roman Dolidze in the main event of UFC Vegas 104.
With Dolidze his loss of UFC 186, Vettori called for a rematch after the jury members had separated the two men at the end of five rounds.
It was a long way back to the Octagon for 'The Italian Dream' with Vettori who previously called several fights that fell before March 15.
The loss has motivated him to make a rapid change, whereby his first target is an unfinished company with a rival of his at 185 pounds.
Marvin Vettori evokes middleweight rival Brendan Allen
In April 2024, Marvin Vettori was set up to participate in another location of the main event, while he returned from his decisive loss to Jared Cannonier in June.
The 31-year-old was booked to cope with Brendan Allen, but an injury forced the Italian to withdraw from the fight with Chris Curtis who took his place.
Although all his winning series that night expanded to seven by avenged his loss against Curtis in 2021, 'All in' has lost back-to-back fights since then.
After exchanging a few words with Vettori after their fight had been canceled, the tensions cooked when the two middleweight contenders came face-to-face last August during a PFL event in Florida.
Allen and Vettori came in a fight with a video of the fight that picked up steam on social media to promote the rivalry between them.
After having lost back-to-back battles for the first time in his career, all of which was in exactly the same place, Vettori posted a message on X to say that he knows who he wants to fight afterwards and that he is staring.
“On Saturday, the fire aroused again, 21 months was a bit. Angry Vettori may have lol back. Time to win some fights. All before I see you outside what you do next? Who will retire?”

What else could be for Marvin Vettori?
Both Marvin Vettori and Brendan Allen are now in similar places and former top candidates in the middleweight division that fell in the pecking order.
Although they could face each other in a huge fight for both men, it would also be logical for them to defend their spots in the top 15 ranking list against some emerging contenders.
The winner of the upcoming matchup between Bo Nickal and Reinier de Ridder is an option, while Vettori has already mentioned a few others.
Names like Roman Kopylov and Joe Pyfer have a lot of potential in the middleweight, but if all or Vettori could pass it, it would show that their days of competing with the best at 185 pound may not be over.
