Jorge Masvidal is accused of 'hiding' by Oban Elliott, who wants to protect his mentor Chael Sonen.
The former UFC Welterweight-Titel candidate and BMF champion withdrew from the Octagon in 2023 after a four-fighter streak. He briefly came back to the boxing ring to rematch Nate Diaz last summer, but lost that too.
Now he seems to be planning a return to the Octagon and he has a prospect that regularly calls him. Masvidal has a long time with fellow legend Sunen, and it seems that the former middleweight and light-heavyweight Elliott wants to offer its proxy.

Since he announced last year that he was planning to return to the Octagon, Jorge Masvidal has been fiercely chased by Oban Elliott. It seems to have been a one-sided pursuit, where the Welsh star it says that he deserves a big name after an explosive start of his UFC career.
“I think that long -haired crazy man might be hiding,” Elliott told Jnmediauk at the weekend. 'Because I don't think he can just jump back in the UFC and fight who he wants. If he barks the Chael Sonnen Boom, you bark my tree, son.
“Maybe you want to change weight class, maybe you want to take the sport a little seriously, get rid of that belly and fall back to lightweight. Because believe me, you don't want to walk around in the welterweight division while I'm in the neighborhood.”
Oban Elliott now strives for Bryan Battle Showdown
With the Masvidal fight that now seems less and less likely, Elliott is looking for another fight to land a place in the top 15. He has called for the controversial Bryan struggle, which now seems to have accepted with the fight in the works of the UFC.

“We spoke with the UFC who tried to get a date,” Elliott explained. “There is something wrong with the schedule. Bryan Battle? That would be a great fight, I think he knows that and the fans would love it.
“If you give us the chance to build that fight that would be spectacular. We can fight and if I come from Bryan Battle, who will give me a ranking. I am on my way to chase the big dogs, I am not only going to say:” I assume they are looking for me “. I am looking for shots.”
