English manager Thomas Tuchel asked Morgan Gibbs-White if he was 'still upset' with him in an uncomfortable phone call after the German initially made the Nottingham Forest star.
The omission of Gibbs-White for qualifications of World Cup against Albania and Latvia was one of the biggest points of the first team of New Boss Tuchel.
The 25-year-old, who has been an important player in Forest's surprise costs for Champions League qualification, told Tuchel what he thought of the decision in a phone call with the German on Sunday, when he was asked to participate in the team.
“I was clearly upset. Yes, a bit disappointed, “Gibbs-White told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“But when he told me, I respected his decision. The standard of players is top level.
“I said back to him as:” I feel that I have done enough to get the call, given the form level in which we were, but you are clearly the manager, you make the decisions, and I fully respect that. “
'So it was clearly disappointing, but then I received the call on Sunday, so I was here immediately.
“It was about 4 or 5 hours. He sent me a message to say, “Are you free to talk?” And I think I answered within 30 seconds.
“He called me and said,” Are you still angry with me, or do you want to come and do us tomorrow and have a desire to train tomorrow? “
“It is clear that there is no doubt. I said that I would like to come and participate and train with the boys, so yes, discovered on Sunday late in the afternoon and I just smiled from ear to ear. '
Despite his first snub, Gibbs-White has praised Tuchel's approach since Gareth Southgate took over in January.
“To be honest, he has been incredible,” he said.
“I think he did it with most players. As soon as he got the job, he had contact with a freedom of the players.
'He is a very easy kind of guy, nice to talk to and he just says things like he comes to see how everyone plays games and so.
'I feel that it was important for him to try to get that band immediately with players because he is used to club football, so he is used to spending time with players every day.
'I felt that it was top of him, really good that he started that relationship before he even met us, which is really good. So yes, just very happy to be here now. '
Gibbs-White has scored five goals and created seven more in the incredible season of Forest and he believes that he is playing the best football of his career.
“I feel that the season that I and the Club, Forest, have at the moment, is definitely the best form I think I have been,” he said.
“So, come here with that confidence and that level of football at the moment, I feel that I am in a really good place.”
